About 15 miles away from our French Bed & Breakfast, located between the forest of Chabrières and the city of Gueret, is Etang de Courtille, a lake of 22 hectaires, dedicated to many water sports and a beach with supervised swimming in July and August.
There is a fitness trail and walking path around the lake which is a steady 3km long, with good walking paths for all abilities, which takes about an hour.
All year round, come and get some fresh air, have fun or practice a sport:
- 3.2 km of path surrounding the lake
- children’s playground
- skate-park, roller-skating track and road safety track for children
- fitness and bodybuilding course
- pétanque and beach soccer
In summer, come and refresh yourself:
- landscaped beach and authorized swimming area
- water play modules
- children’s water jets
- activities offered as part of a Summer in Courtille
- nautical activities: pedal boat, windsurfing, sailing, canoeing, paddles.
In addition there is a bar-restaurant with outdoor terrace, ideal after a leisurely stroll round the lake.
We’ve eaten at the Le Divino restaurant and found it to be very pleasant and quite busy so sometimes it is best to book.
Etang de Courtille is not far from the ‘Le Labyrinthe Geant’ which is basically a giant maze and ‘Le Loups de Chabrieres’ which is the wolf park and forest.
