Etang de la Rousille in Chatelus-Malvaleix, Creuse is a beautiful lake just 5 miles up the road from our French Bed & Breakfast.
This is a huge summer attraction with a beach, cafe, swimming, canoeing and a BBQ area.
There is a walk that takes you round the whole of the lake which has good access and is suitable for all levels of ability. There are a number of stops and benches along the route to take in the view, wildlife or just to soak up a bit of sun.
We met a male green lizard, native to France, soaking up the sun on our last visit.
